For the first time! (DVBS Story)

Children Empowerment of Youth Mobilization is planning to hold a Vacation Bible School on April 28 - May 2, this year. As we are seeking the Lord where we will hold this, a church in Cavite came to our mind. We contacted the pastor and we got his go signal. So we made a schedule for a meeting to talk about the details of the VBS with church’s leaders.

Just last week, we had a meeting with them. We were surprised to know that this will be their first time to hold a VBS in their community. They are excited to see how the program will run and they are looking forward to learn on how we will do it.

Pastor said, they have many kids around the area who he thinks might be interested to join the VBS. They just don’t know how will they approach them and invite them to come in to church. So he thinks this might be a great way to build connection with kids and their families using activities like this. Even the leaders who are with us in the meeting are excited to see how things will get better and easier for them to build relationships with people around their community.

 

This is a wonderful opportunity for us in the Youth Mobilization, to help a church who are in need of ways to build connections with people. They are one of the reasons why we are doing what we do. We exist to empower churches like them, who have a desire to change people’s lives. And we are excited to see how this VBS will start many good things in their community.

We are still raising funds to cover the expenses of the Vacation Bible School until April 10. We are praying and hoping we could receive donations designated to this VBS. Please pray with us that we could be able to raise the funds we need.

Also, we are recruiting 10 youth to be our volunteer for this VBS. These youth will assist the teachers and will guide students with their crafts and games. Please pray that we could be able to get youth volunteers from different churches.
