Youth Mobilization Celebrate Christmas with Abot Pag-ibig Kids.

We are overwhelmed to see how kids of Abot Pag-ibig Project enjoyed the party. They played games and received awesome prizes. They also received gifts of toys, Hygiene kit and school supplies. Even their parents were so happy to see their kids enjoying the party. This party is a great start to introduce the Abot Pag-ibig project to kids and their parents. And we are so thankful to people, friends and partners who donated gifts and volunteered themselves to this project. You made this Christmas celebration meaningful to the kids. Youth Mobilization will start Abot Pag-ibig (A Values Formation Program) with a Christmas Party this coming December 22nd. We went and visit children to their houses for us to get their names and some important information we need for upcoming Christmas Party. It is a humble experience for the team to see their situation and to hear their stories. Both children and their parents are excited to join the Christmas Party. It is an awesome thing for the team to feel their excitem ent. Even the Barangay Captain expressed his gratitude that we could be able to share the joy of Christmas in their community. Please pray with us for this wonderful opportunity to connect with children. We value any help you can extend to us. Thank you for your partnership. I will post more stories about this program soon.

A visit from Stopsley Baptist Church.

SBC Team played games with youth It’s been nine (9) years since God brought me to England to do a mission exposure trip as part of exchange program of Stopsley Baptist Church with Youth Mobilization. It was a humbling experience for me to visit a known-rich country. I have learn a lot from my 4months experience which somewhat led me to have a missionary heart and made me commit myself to a full time work with Youth Mobilization. SBC Team watched movie with youth Since then up to now, it is exciting to see how God still given us opportunity to keep the connection between this church from England to us, Youth Mobilization, here in Philippines . Though, we are million miles apart but our heart still joined together to work with the poor. From time to time, Stopsley Baptist Church sends youth to do missions work with Youth Mobilization and IT Tender. This has been a blessing for us to see their young people willingly brave the challenges of cultures just to be a sym

Youth Mobilization Newsletter June 2014

Updates: 1. The Youth Mobilization team had a wonderful time at our Planning and Team Building retreat last June 2 nd . This planning was for I-Bike and the Youth Center for the second half of the year. It went well and we all feel rejuvenated as we had time reflecting on God’s faithfulness in our personal lives and in our work. During this Planning and Team Building retreat, the I-Bike teachers gave a demo on how they could improve their teaching and how they can add some exciting ways to encourage their students to learn. The Youth Center workers planned to find ways on how they can be more effective in connecting with young people and getting them interested to join activities. Our aim is to empower youth by guiding, leading and mentoring them to be a productive part of their families and communities. If you would like to know more about the Youth Center , you may send an email to youthmob.official@gmail.com 2. I-Bike starts again with the school year this June

STORY OF A CHANGED LIFE: Ryan

Image
Ryan started to volunteer himself in Youth Mobilization’s mobile school project. He is one driving the I-BIKE and in-charge of taking care of everything that is inside the I-Bike like Lesson Materials, pencils, crayons, etc. He is also in-charge of setting up the class and putting up tables and chairs for students. He likes to mingle with the kids, play around with them and telling funny stories to them. He goes along with kids really well. Maybe because of his funny character that kids love. He always dreaming someday he will be a teacher for kids but he ends up thinking he wont be good enough because he don’t know how and what to teach. He doesn’t have proper trainings or a degree in school. These reasons hinder him to pursue his dream to be a teacher for kids someday. Then Youth Mobilization went to a province nearby last week of April to hold a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for kids. He was assigned to tell a story which is part of the program for VBS. He was excited that fi

Raymond is going to school this June

Image
One of our team members,  Raymond  is going back to school this June. This is exciting for our team as we are all aspiring to be more effective in our commitment to serve people. Raymond will be studying Education. He will be taking this course because he would like to be more effective in teaching children in our mobile school project, I-BIKE. Youth Mobilization sees potential in Raymond's life. He is dedicated, hard-working, and goes along with kids really well. And taking E ducation to be a licensed teacher is a big improvement for him and for the mobile school project. Let us continue to shower our encouragement by supporting him in our prayers and though financial giving to cover his daily school expenses. And together we will celebrate for the success of God through Raymond's life. Please email me: mackie_youthmob@hotmail.com to know how you can donate for Raymond.  or you can email Mike Snow, msnow@extremeresponse.org and let him know that you would lik

Youth Mobilization now has a home.

Image
After many months of looking for a place we can use for office and Youth Center purposes, the Lord has finally provided us a home. This house has a suitable parking space for the YM van and for the I-BIKE bicycle, a room we can use as an office, a spacious kitchen, a library, and another room we can use as a youth centre. Teaches Basic English  Youth Center Youth Center We decided to let go of our old office because we realized the many potentials if we rent a house instead of a room in a building. The idea is to have a hub for the many ministries we are running in reaching-out our communities. So we finally got it and we truly love this house. Office Room VBS lMeeting We just moved a week ago and we are indeed looking forward to seeing many stories of change. Just a week after, our new home now is a venue for a lot of activities. The Youth meets here five days a week while our church members gather here every Tuesday evening for a time of prayer

STORY OF CHANGE

Image
I-Bike (A Mobile School Project) Story of Change: Lord Ghave Jocson Here is Lord Ghave, 4 years old. He is one of our students in I-Bike (A Mobile School Project) who touched our hearts when we get to know his story. He came from a poor family, his father is a “pedicab” driver earning below minimum and his mother is jobless. He has three siblings and he is the third one from the eldest. Since his age is too close to the youngest, he didn’t get enough attention from his family. He is, in a way, neglected because his father is always out working and his mother’s attention is always on the youngest. One time, when he noticed a group of kids studying in the street, he came and sat down to observed. Because he loves to get attention, he usually disturbed students of I-Bike to play with him. That is when we noticed him. Instead of asking him to stay out of our class for us to have a quality time to teach our students, we just let him sit down and observe. Then everytime he heard

God cares for the education of the children

This afternoon, I together with Ryan visited Under Thy Wings Christian Academy  to see the new construction of the school. As the principal of the school, Teacher Rose, showed us the new rooms they have and telling stories of God’s faithfulness for providing the need for the new construction. Before, they only have ground floor but now they built up to four floors. It is by God’s grace and by the generosity of people who believe in purpose of educating children from poor community who cannot pay a formal school. It was a blessing to visit them again. I remember when we (YM Team) with a summer team from Canada came here in this school 2008 to build a playground to children. This playground was donated by couple friend, after seeing a need to build one for the students of the school. After five (5) years, the playground still brings joy to children in the school. I saw them enjoying their time in the playground when we visited this afternoon. It brings back the joy of p

I-BIKE Closing Program

Image
On the 29th of March, our mobile school named I-BIKE, will have their closing program for the students who attended our first batch.  These are the students who regularly attended and finished the lessons ever since the I-BIKE started last August up to March this year. We are excited to know that all in all, 45 students will graduate in our closing program. Until now that the first batch of students of I-Bike will come to it's closing program, we are amazed how God provided a way for us to empower these group of kids from three communities by educating them through our mobile school project.  Having a pedicab (a bike with a sidecar), few people who believe in kids education and small funds that we have, we started to dream to bring education right in the community. This dream became a reality when God opened a door for us to to teach the kids using a mobile school.  Since then, we are teaching kids about Phonics (alphabets), Color and Numbers and telling them Bible Stori

For the first time! (DVBS Story)

Children Empowerment of Youth Mobilization is planning to hold a Vacation Bible School on April 28 - May 2, this year. As we are seeking the Lord where we will hold this, a church in Cavite came to our mind. We contacted the pastor and we got his go signal. So we made a schedule for a meeting to talk about the details of the VBS with church’s leaders. Just last week, we had a meeting with them. We were surprised to know that this will be their first time to hold a VBS in their community. They are excited to see how the program will run and they are looking forward to learn on how we will do it. Pastor said, they have many kids around the area who he thinks might be interested to join the VBS. They just don’t know how will they approach them and invite them to come in to church. So he thinks this might be a great way to build connection with kids and their families using activities like this. Even the leaders who are with us in the meeting are excited to see how things will
